Though small, Eureka Springs has made a name for itself for providing world-class live entertainment. Throughout the year, you can find a number of events and shows, from opera to theater to comedy. We've made this guide to highlight some of the best live performances in the area.

Intrigue Theater

The Intrigue Theater is one of the biggest attractions that Eureka Springs has to offer. Operated by Master Illusionist Sean Paul and Julianne Fray, the theater offers an entertainment experience of mystery, illusion and comedy. The pair have appeared on numerous national television shows such as Penn & Teller: Fool Us and America's Got Talent.

Each show is of a caliber that one would expect from Vegas, New York, or other major city. The theater is church-like, with vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows, which adds a special quality to the show.

The Intrigue Theater also hosts Dewey Jo Beene, Jr., an established magician and comedian who has been performing for over thirty years. These shows are a perfect blend of comedy, storytelling, and magic that will effortlessly involves the entire audience

Opera in the Ozarks

For decades, Opera in the Ozarks has shown the world that opera truly is for everyone as you are never too old or too young to have fun while listening to live music.

Set at Inspiration Point, the opera serves a bridge to the professional music world for many prospective students from around the globe. Here, you'll find dedicated students performing opera classics from the greatest composers of all time. Many of the shows have a modern twist to their theme, reinventing the classics while honoring them at the same time.

Opera at the Ozarks also holds family opera performances that allow guests of all ages to enjoy the age-old musical tradition in an easily accessible way. These performances often are reimagined tellings of old classics, such as Pinoccio and The Magic Flute.

Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down Music Theater

One of the longest-running shows in the area, the Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down Music Theater continues a tradition of family fun entertainment. With a bit of country, a bit of gospel, and a whole lot of comedy, the experienced cast at the theater consistently brings a high level of energy to their performance.

The cast is led by Mike Nichols, an award winning performer who has entertained audiences across the globe for over 40 years. Throughout the performance, you'll see Mike put on multiple personas, including the famed Tater "Chip" Patches as well as Elvis. With the varied performances, you can be sure that there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

The Great Passion Play

The Great Passion Play offers one of the largest scale outdoor performances in the country, centered around the last week of Jesus Christ. With a 4,000 seat amphitheater, a multi-level set, and a cast of over 170, the play is truly of epic proportions. In addition, visitors can also enjoy the Holy Land Tour, a collection of exhibits painstakingly recreated for historical accuracy. On top of this, visitors can dine at the Great Hall Buffet, the onsite homestyle buffet.
